All About Flaxseed Gel For Natural Hair

So I just recently got into the ‘Flaxseed movement’  and I must say, I think I made the right choice. So many other natural hair youtubers have done videos on how to make your own flaxseed gel, for example Naptural85 and BiancaReneeToday and they seem to love it, they also have two totally different curly hair textures, so it goes to show just how versatile the gel is. I have been using ecostyler gel for years, but I would like to use something more natural to lay and slay my hair/edges. I did use flaxseed gel to lay my edges and put my hair in a bun, which put it to the ultimate test. I was shook nonetheless … at how smooth it laid my hair. It is also very inexpensive, I purchased a bag of Organic Flaxseeds from Marshalls for $3.99. Now this isn’t a strong hold, which I like because ecostyler would make my hair feel crunchy and hard after awhile and it also tames the frizz, so you’ll be good. Below are the steps I used to make my own DIY Flaxseed Hair Gel and the benefits I noticed.

 Things You’ll Need:
1/2 Cup of Organic Flaxseeds
2 Cups of Water
Tea Tree Oil or any other oil you would like
Old plastic bowl
Pantyhouse or Stockings

How-To Make:
Bring the flaxseeds to a boil with the water for about 15 mins on low heat
Stir until the consistency become thick (like the picture above)
Turn the heat off and then let it cool
Put the pantyhose over the plastic bowl and pour the flaxseeds into the pantyhose
Squeeze all of the excess gel out with your fingers of a pair of tongs (be care to not create a hole)
Add 4-5 drops of tea tree oil or any other hair oil you would like

Benefits I Experienced:
No crunching or flaking
All natural, so nothing to worry about
Promotes hair growth🤗
Cost effective
Mixed well with other hair cream
Leaves hair feeling soft
