Has March and April become the month’s of good music, orrr? Because some of my favorite artist have put out new albums/EP’s and I have been jammin’ ever since, yaasss! I’m very serious about my music choices (i’m not about to be out here being brainwashed through the stuff I listen to like a lot of others), and I believe I have an ‘old soul’ when it comes to music, so all this mumble rap and people who can’t sing on the radio, my ears just don’t have the time. Anyways, I wanted to share with guys what i’m listening to currently and bless your playlist:
Mýa – T.K.O. (The Knock Out)
The original R&B Princess is back you guys. If you love laid back R&B and want to feel sexy about yourself, something to vibe to in the car late at night, or before you get ready to go out on a date with your bae, then this is your album. Also let’s just say Mýa has NOT aged since first album ‘Fear of Flying’ came out in year 2000. Seeing her body and skin, she makes me want to go full vegan… because damn.
Tink – Pain & Pleasure (EP)
I LOVE Tink and so glad to see her putting out music and not being restrained by her label anymore. She recently put out an EP, but I cannot wait for a full album. Tink’s lyrics are about those real emotions and feelings you experience when your either currently in love with your boo, your ex broke up with you or the dude you liked so much ghosted you and left you broken… she makes songs for the gals.
J. Cole – KOD
J. Cole is zaaddyy and has been for a long time. Who doesn’t love a college educated, woke, and real man that is tall and has the vocabulary/vernacular to have conversations about controversial topics and isn’t thirsty for money, attention and popularity. All of this encompasses Mr. Cole. This man makes you want reevaluate your lifestyle and is very relatable while doing such, he is such a great role model for black men and we need more black men like him to guide the lost youth.
Wale – It’s Complicated (EP)
Wale is zaaddyy as well and has been for a long time too. Wale is one of those artist that makes you think deep about life, just like Cole, and that is because he’s a poet as well. He is like the father of truth and relationship guidance in today’s world. My favorite songs on the EP are “It’s Complicated” and “Black Bonnie.” He has always been into uplifting black women in his music and in real life, so i’m always going to support him.
Alina Baraz – The Color Of You
I recently just got into Alina’s music and i’ve enjoyed it so far. Alina Baraz is a better singer than what’s her face, Sabina Clouds, I believe? Alina’s voice is very sultry and relaxing. She is nice to listen too when you just want to chill and she is very pretty too.
Tory Lanez – Memories Don’t Die
Tory Lanez gets me so turnt yoo, I love this album. Talking about in your room and in the mirror twerking with your tounge out yelling “ahhhhhh” lol this was me. “B.I.D” and “Real Thing” gets me so litty. I know this is off topic, but it just amazes me how he’s so young and has a receding hair line. He is actually on the cover of his album… bald, wow.
Cardi B – Invasion of Privacy
and Cardi B, she released her album too.
