5 Inspirational People You Should Watch On YouTube.

I am all about inspiration and motivation because … like, what is life without it. Recently, I found myself in a head space where I wanted to better myself mentally and financially. I feel like when you have discipline in those 2 areas, you become unstoppable. And of course, whenever we need help or guidance with anything, we go straight to miss YouTube. On my journey of becoming a ‘better me’, I have found 5 youtubers that know all of the right things to say, to get me off my ass and to make things happen and I want to share them with you.

Gary Vaynerchuck

I watch his videos all the time, Gary Vee is so energetic and passionate and he loves the word “fuck” lol. He is the perfect go-to for inspiration because he doesn’t sugar coat things and if you ask him a question he’s going to tell you the truth, leaving most people shocked. He knows that going through life the traditional way is fading out and he’s all for the new modern way of becoming successful. If you have a business or thinking of starting one, he gives you really good advice. Your favorite rappers love him too.

Mel Robbins

Mel will tell you like it is too. She focuses mainly on the human mindset/brain and how to be better. She emphasizes ACTUALLY doing the work, not procrastinating or hesitating. My favorite thing she said in one of her videos is that nobody is going to come save you, if you want it bad enough you’ll save yourself. Everything you thought you knew about motivation is … well, a myth.

Breeny Lee

Ladies, are you having trouble in your dating life, with friends or need a confidence pep-talk, please subscribe to Breeny. I love her, she’s so pretty, I love her accent and it’s like listening to your best friend tell you in a nice way to get your shit together. Some people try to portray like they are perfect all the time, but we’re all human and we’re not perfect all the time. Sometimes you may need to watch a “how to” video.

Dave Ramsey

Save your money! Dave really helped me get my money right. Having nice things is cool, but it’s a lot of people with those nice things and very low bank account balances🤭. He gives people the steps to take, to become debt free and how to spend money wisely. My mom actually turned me on to him and once I watched his videos I couldn’t stop. He has a segment on his show where people call in and share their financial struggles (some folks have no money management skills) and gains (22 year olds with a million dollars in savings), and I love listening to them lol.

Derrick Grace

Ok, I know what you’re thinking… I can’t see past the face tattoos. Please listen to his wisdom before you judge. I love watching Derrick’s videos because he is authentic (there are not too many of people like him left) and speaks on real issues, especially ones that are affecting the black community. His perspective on life is interesting and he’s constantly sharing mental gems and yes there is a viral video of him teaching his kids how to use guns and homeschooling them his own way. He’s not your average.

The Significance Of Owning A Business/Brand.

✨ First of all, shop with me: www.theedajbrand.com

I am so thankful that I have the mindset and the www. at my fingertips to even think of wanting to start a business. I am even more thankful to have the tangible resources to actually put my thoughts into action. It comes with a lot of hard work, goal setting and focus, but with high risk comes high reward. If you are on the verge of starting or wanting to start a business, but need a little more convincing, read my reasons as to why it’s so significant to start one (especially in your twenties).

The Ability To Give Back To The People.

Honestly, if you’re doing this to make a quick buck, i’m judging and side-eyeing you heavy. I believe a portion of your businesses profits should be given to back to the people (especially to your own communities, and communities that are the most vulnerable and less fortunate). I don’t want to eventually be a million-dollar of 6 figure business, and keep everything to myself. The money will always come back, especially if you’re doing things the right way and you’re legit. To keep every dime to yourself is greedy and selfish and … we already have enough of those people at the top.

You Get To Do What You Love.

Who doesn’t want to do what they love … and get paid? I know, I do. I feel like that’s one way to ensure that money will never be a problem, when you have a skill that you’re passionate about. For example, if you’re a MUA and that’s your passion, yeah you can get paid for it, which is great, but some people don’t feel like “i’m only in this for the money and that’s it.” They do it because, at the end of the day, they love it. Think about it like this, if all the money in the world was gone tomorrow, would you still be doing what you love, your passion? If the answer is yes, then you’re doing it right.

The definition of freedom is “the power or right to act, speak, think as one wants, without hindrance or restraint.” When you become your own boss, you have just that … freedom. You can wake up in damn … Tulum, Mexico on a Monday at 2:00pm with a margarita in your hand and start working. Of course, it’s best to have a steady schedule lol, but if you wanted to, you could. There’s no one you must answer to, that’s one of the perks!

Setting Your Family & Friends Up With Future Opportunity.

This one is pretty significant for me. It is important that I create something big and grand that I can eventually pass down to my children and also give the people that I love around me an opportunity to work in a space and not have to worry about all of the extra stress that comes with working a traditional 9 – 5. Some of us are not born into direct opportunity, we have to create it. Generational wealth people, generational wealth is the goal.

Of course, there are plenty of more reasons, why it’s significant to own a business or a brand, but there are a few that pushed me to want to be apart of the business owner sector. If you planning on opening a business or have a great business idea, please do it! It’s like the new trend lol, don’t wait … put action behind that shit.

If you have a business/brand, I would love to support! Link it below in the comments, let’s show support.

Advice To The Woman Entering Her Early 20’s. | It’s My Mf Birthday!

As I sit here in quarantine (confused as to how we even got here), I realized that my birthday is in a couple of hours and time is flying by. So i’m on my laptop, during my favorite time of the day (night time), in my pajamas, with a glass of wine, listening to music on my floor, in the vibe, when I had this brilliant idea to write a blog post. I wanted to write a “think-piece” if you will, to the woman out there … just like me, entering her 20’s, or already in her 20’s and give some advice on everything i’ve learned so far.

Congratulations, you’ve made it to (or through) your twenties. You’re here, you’re still alive. But, as we all know, everything that glitters isn’t always gold. Ladies, I struggled during the first half of this whole “20’s decade ordeal.” There are a few things I wish I could go back and change, and things I wish I knew. I’ve learned a lot by watching and listening to (wise) people older than me. And my blog is all about inspiration, so here are some things i’ve learned so far.

#1.) Be Grateful & Humble.

First off, I think every year added on to your life should be celebrated and you should show gratitude. It’s easy to get caught up in the ‘suckiness’ of life sometimes and to take the little things for granted. But I think when you show gratitude and humbleness, everything you want comes to you with ease. Over the years I’ve learned, anything and anyone can be taken from you in a split second. So be appreciative, be grateful … humble yourself.

#2.) Don’t Be Broke.

This one makes me cringe. We live in a time where it’s all about flexing on other people. Showing off what you have and laughing at what the other people don’t. I live in Houston, and this city is teeming with perpetrators. Dior shoes, but bad credit scores. Look at it this way, your twenties is for you to build … BUILD PEOPLE. Save your money, live below your means, take on investing as a hobby. Work your 9-5 and have a side hustle. There is nothing wrong with that. Pay off debt. Nothing makes my skin crawl more, than talking to older people in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, struggling to make ends meet and complaining about how they don’t have enough money and wish they would’ve done things differently financially.

#3.) Don’t End Up Bitter & Life-less.

This is the one. I have met people older than me that have ended up … boring, bitter and weird. Every time they open their mouth it’s something negative or depressing. There’s no excitement to their lives. They settled for the ‘picture perfect’ and ‘cookie cutter’ lifestyle, but lowkey hate that life. They didn’t live and ended up regretting it. I was guilty of this, because this was once me (mentally, I was going through alot though). No matter what, you have to make a promise to yourself, and do whatever it takes to NEVER end up ‘the bitter old boring lady.’ And as cliche as it might sound, only do things that ignite your soul and gets your adrenaline going.

#4.) Take Care Of Y.O.U. First.

Self care is always and will always be the major key. Self care to me is physical, so like getting your nails, hair and lashes done ect., but it is also mental, so trying to get a grip on that childhood trauma and understanding how you are in relationships and how you can fix you, is important. This right here, is an investment … in yourself. There are so many people walking around drowning and sulking in their inner problems and it’s hard for them to exude a true radiant beauty on the outside when inside it’s an ugly mess.

#5.) You Are Your Surroundings.

Be picky about who you choose to be around and who you give your time to. I am guilty because I used to have a hard time deciphering who was trifiling and who was legit. It’s so so so so important to only surround yourself with good people that elevate you in some way. If you feel like a person is not your type of human and they are being weird, distance yourself. You will literally gain nothing, by being around them. I mean… nothing. It’s easier said than done, but you’ll eventually get there.

#6.) Don’t Take Things Personal & Let The Past Be The Past.

Monica, said it best guys. When other people do shady things, it’s not a reflection on you. People do things because they want to and if you take every little thing personal, you will be disappointed. Don’t hold on to grudges and let things roll off of your back. Say what you need to say right there in that moment to that person’s face. Don’t wait and definitely don’t hesitate. Also, leave the past in the past. Stop going back to what god is forcibly trying to remove.

Now, I don’t have all the answers to this thing called life, but i’ve seen some things and i’ve learned. So, to that young woman, entering her 20 somethings … confused … unguided and figuring it all out. You’re not alone and it’s not a walk in the park honey. Keep doing you, but play it smart. ♥
